CREATIVES ACTION GROUP – Creativity & Happiness with Patrick Collister (Member Event)

Join our Guest speaker Patrick Collister as we discuss Creativity & Happiness:

Maslow’s hierarchy places creative people at its pinnacle. Creative people are happy people, he said. Really? Quite a lot of the creatives I’ve worked with in my time have been miserable sods. Others burned out early. So, what does it take to put up with repeated rejection of your ideas and still keep smiling?

One, acknowledge your differences. Two, reinvent yourself frequently. Three, think rather than feel.

I’ll introduce you to the four points of conflict in the creative process and suggest ways you can create and nourish a creative culture in your agencies.

Patrick Collister was the executive creative director of Ogilvy & Mather UK before starting up training company Creative Matters in 2004. In 2013 he landed the best job in advertising when he became creative director of The ZOO, Google’s client-facing creative think-tank.

About the group: Hosted by our member lead Greg McAlinden – Exec Creative Director at Space. Independent agencies are proud of the output from their creative teams and understand their unique ability to solve client problems in innovative and effective ways and with an agility that sets them aside. Our Creative Group meets to ensure they remain at the cutting edge of the communications process and cover topics as diverse as recruitment, training, idea generation and award-winning campaigns.
