Session overview

Emma Gardner | Co-Founder of Born Equal Consultants

Parent, carer & entrepreneur, Emma Gardner talks to us about how her personal story of growth and inclusion has given her a new sense of belonging in the work that she now does professionally both as Co-Founder of Born Equal Consultants, an Equity & Inclusion Consultancy and of With Not For, a new specialist recruitment agency representing disabled people in the creative industries.

Building on a successful 20-year career in advertising, her work is now all purpose led and her passion to drive change takes on many forms, the latest being the imminent launch of a new pop culture magazine showcasing fresh & intersectional disabled talent, called Not Your Monolith.

Emma credits her disabled daughter Dotty for her shift in perspective and direction, and talks openly about how ongoing therapy and becoming a mother and carer of her disabled child continues to change her life radically for the better.
