TRAINING : Psychological Safety

How to enable your people to take risks with ideas and feel safe to do so. High performing teams need psychological safety to be able to explore, experiment and feel supported to stretch and grow. This short introduction gives you the starting point and the process to help you and your teams stretch safely.

 

YOU WILL LEARN

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Clearly define psychological safety and explain why it’s vital in creative, fast-paced marketing environments.
  • Recognise the four stages of psychological safety and identify where their current team culture fits.
  • Spot common barriers that prevent open communication and creative risk-taking.
  • Practise giving and receiving feedback in ways that build trust and learning.
  • Apply practical strategies to encourage openness, curiosity, and respectful challenge within their teams.
  • Commit to one specific, actionable behaviour that helps foster psychological safety in their workplace.

 

CONTENT

This 60-minute interactive session includes:

  • Introduction to Psychological Safety: What it is, why it matters, and how it drives creativity and team performance.
  • The Four Stages Framework: Exploring inclusion, learner, contributor, and challenger safety through relatable agency examples.
  • Interactive Icebreaker
  • Scenario Breakouts: Small-group discussions on real-world marketing challenges and how to respond with psychological safety in mind.
  • Role-Play Exercise – “Feedback Exchange”
  • Collaborative Wrap-Up: Group brainstorming to identify team actions that build a culture of trust and safety.
  • Reflection & Commitment: Each participant defines one small action to take back to their team.

TRAINER:

s a global award-winning digital strategist, tech speaker and consultancy Founder. She is currently the Chief AI Officer for Liverpool City Region and undertaking an MSc in Applied Positive Psychology. Tiffany works at the intersection of AI and Leading Digital Change through leadership psychology.  She has been voted as one of the top 25 women to have changed British Digital Industry in the last 25 years. She founded her digital strategic consultancy Transmute which helps large organisations and governments to embrace digital change through the smart use of digital strategy, psychology, emerging tech and education. Transmute’s clients include BBC, Capgemini, Google, Microsoft, Cabinet Office and Viacom. Tiffany has delivered over 300 training courses to over 10000 people in digital skills over the last ten years. She helped Google set up Squared Online, their flagship digital course, and lectured for 5 years for Google.
