YOU WILL LEARN

By the end of the workshop, participants will:

  • Understand what coaching really is – and how it differs from managing or mentoring.
  • Develop the confidence to hold coaching-style conversations that drive motivation and accountability.
  • Learn and practise the core techniques of effective coaching: listening, questioning, reflecting, reframing, and feedback.
  • Explore the six pillars of performance (Mindset, Energy, Focus, Relationships, Support, Skill) and how to coach within each.
  • Use motivational drivers (Control, Confidence, Connectedness, Challenge) to unlock sustained performance.
  • Apply a simple coaching framework to real-world scenarios, with guided practice and feedback.
  • Leave with a personal coaching action plan to embed back in the workplace

CONTENT

  • What is coaching?
  • The difference between coach, manager, and leader.
  • The core elements of performance revisited
    • Six pillars of performance: Mindset, Energy, Focus, Relationships, Support, Skill.
    • Motivation: Control, Confidence, Connectedness, and Challenge.
  • Coaching skills and techniques:
    • Active listening
    • Powerful questioning
    • Reflecting and summarising
    • Reframing
    • Giving feedback that sparks growth
    • Non-directive and non-judgemental interactions
    • Maintaining focus and gaining commitment
  • Introduction to a coaching framework – practice and role-play.
  • Making it real – creating a plan to implement back in the office.

 

DELEGATE LEVEL

For experienced people leaders with at least 12 months’ experience at a senior level and currently managing multiple line reports. Ideal for Account Directors through to Group Account Directors (or equivalent) who now want to elevate their impact by developing the mindset and skills to inspire ownership and performance through coaching.

Jo Webb is a Leadership Coach and former Chief People Officer with over 25 years’ experience helping creative and marketing agencies unlock leadership, culture and performance. Jo specialises in building emotionally intelligent, human-centred leaders who can drive high performance in fast-paced, hybrid environments.
