Most brand podcasts fail. This session shows you why and what to do instead.
Your client wants a podcast. Or maybe you’re planning to pitch one. But how do you actually create a show that cuts through the noise and doesn’t die quietly after three episodes?
In this fast-paced, straight-talking session, podcast consultant and Top 10 UK podcast host Charles Parkinson shares the five things every successful podcast has in common, and the three biggest mistakes brands make when launching one.
You’ll walk away with a clear understanding of:
• What separates top-performing podcasts from the 99% that don’t last
• The common mistakes brands make (often with the best intentions)
• How to turn a podcast into a serious channel for audience growth and brand impact
• The creative and strategic choices that matter before you hit record
If you’re advising clients on content or planning to pitch a show yourself, this session will give you the clarity, confidence and edge to make it work, and make it last.
Charles Parkinson is a podcast consultant and former co-host of How I Became, a UK Top 10 Careers Podcast that featured guests like Skepta and Netflix’s Charithra Chandran, built a loyal following, and recorded live episodes at events including SXSW and Cannes Lions.
Charles brings over a decade of experience creating content for global brands including Chanel, Reebok, Tesco, and Amazon, and now helps agencies and businesses develop podcasts that stand out in a saturated market.
From shaping strategy and storytelling to coaching hosts and crafting launch plans, Charles specialises in helping people avoid the mistakes that sink most branded podcasts. He works with teams to turn podcast ambition into execution, with a proven approach to getting things launched and listened to.
