As AI tools become more embedded in creative workflows, the need for sharp, ethical, human thinking is greater than ever. In the age of automation, critical thinking is your agency’s competitive edge. This short, practical session helps you and your team sharpen judgment, challenge bias, and make better decisions when working with AI.
YOU WILL LEARN
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Clearly define critical thinking and explain its importance in AI-augmented creative and strategic work.
- Recognise where and why AI tools can mislead or limit thinking, and how to spot these risks early.
- Analyse AI-generated content with a critical lens, asking the right questions to ensure quality and relevance.
- Practise challenging assumptions, checking bias, and interrogating the “invisible logic” behind AI outputs.
- Apply a practical critical thinking toolkit to improve team conversations, campaign ideas, and client outputs.
- Commit to one specific, actionable behaviour to embed critical thinking into their daily creative practice.
CONTENT
This 60-minute interactive session includes:
- Introduction to Critical Thinking in the Age of AI: Why it matters, what can go wrong, and how to reclaim our role as thoughtful decision-makers.
- Common AI Pitfalls: Hallucinations, bias, over-reliance, how to spot and stop them before they derail your work.
- Interactive Icebreaker Poll – “How do you use AI?”
- Scenario Breakouts: Real-world marketing challenges where AI steers the wrong way, small groups discuss how critical thinking can course-correct.
- Rapid-Fire ‘Spot the Flaw’ Exercise: Real AI outputs, real problems, can you spot the red flags?
- Toolkit Co-Creation: Build a checklist of questions and behaviours that help teams think critically, even under pressure.
- Reflection & Commitment: Each participant chooses one action to take back and strengthen critical thinking in their team.

Tiffany St James is a global award-winning digital strategist, tech speaker and consultancy Founder. She is currently the Chief AI Officer for Liverpool City Region and undertaking an MSc in Applied Positive Psychology. Tiffany works at the intersection of AI and Leading Digital Change through leadership psychology. She has been voted as one of the top 25 women to have changed British Digital Industry in the last 25 years. She founded her digital strategic consultancy Transmute which helps large organisations and governments to embrace digital change through the smart use of digital strategy, psychology, emerging tech and education. Transmute’s clients include BBC, Capgemini, Google, Microsoft, Cabinet Office and Viacom. Tiffany has delivered over 300 training courses to over 10000 people in digital skills over the last ten years. She helped Google set up Squared Online, their flagship digital course, and lectured for 5 years for Google.
